Malikah Shabazz was well known as one of the daughters of late Malcolm X who is an Muslim minister and human rights activist has found dead at her apartment on Monday, November 22, 2021, in Brooklyn, New York City, she was 56 years old at the time of her demise. The exact cause for her death is not known and also cops have not found any suspect in her death.
Many are skeptical about her death because she was found dead after a week of her father’s murderer being released from the prison and the same was been confirmed by the New York State court judge Judge Ellen Biben. Her father was killed by Muhammad Aziz and late Khalil Islam they served over two decades in prison. Many social media users who were admirers of Malcolm X mourned her death.
She is one of the sixth daughters of Malcolm X and Betty Shabazz. She has not made much appearances unlike her father publicly. However, she has made a rare appearance at the programs which were organized by her father. Malikah is married and has a daughter named Bettih Bahiyah Shabazz, not many details about her husband is known.
However, in 2017, she and her daughter both wren arrested on charges of animal abuse and truck theft. They were arrested for stealing a rental truck and injuring the dogs, the dogs were later taken for treatment. The mother and daughter duo were released after clearing the bonds of $2,000 each. Before this in 2011, Malikah was pleaded guilty to stealing a 70-year-old woman’s identity to obtain credit cards for payments. She stole more than $55,000 using the fake identity.

Malikah Shabazz’s father Malcolm X and mother Betty Shabazz together shared 6 daughters including Qubilah Shabazz, Gamilah Lumumba Shabazz, Attallah Shabazz, and Ilyasah Shabazz. However, her father Malcolm X was well recognized as a human rights activist and Muslim minister. He was one of the most powerful voices against fighting racism, he was the inspiration for the Black community and Black empowerment. In 1964, he served as a spokesman for the Nation of Islam.
Malcolm was also sentenced to over 10 years in prison and also engaged in several illicit activities. He has done multiple odd jobs during his school time, he attended West Junior High School and Mason High School in Mason, Michigan.
In 1948, the leader of Islam Elijah Muhammad advised Malcolm to leave all the devastating behavior and engaged himself in praying to God. After Elijah Muhammad Malcolm was the most influential leader of the Nation of Islam. In the early 1950s and 1960’s he was appreciated for the increase in membership at the group.
Meanwhile, he also inspired Cassius Clay the boxer to join the Islam Nation group. He also trained and mentored Louis X to become the leader of the Nation of Islam group. After he left the Islam Nation, he founded the religious organization named Muslim Mosque, Inc. Throughout his journey in Islam, he was given multiple death threats and he also told is one of the interviews that Gordon Parks, who was actively looking to kill him.
Her father married Betty Shabazz in 1958, Betty met Malcolm at a dinner party after one of his lectures. She later began attending his lectures and joined the Nation of Islam community. In 1958, he proposed to Betty through a phone call and that’s how the couple started dating each other.
Betty served as an American civil rights advocate and an educator. She gradtuetrd from Tuskegee Institute. Due to a difficult time in Alabama, she moved to New York City and where she served as a nurse. Talking about her sisters, Malikah Shabazz sister Attallah Shabazz is the first daughter who is an author, community organizer, motivational speaker, and activist. Talking about Qubilah Bahiyah Shabazz, she is the second daughter. Talking about Ilyasah Shabazz, she is the third daughter, who is also the community organizer, motivational speaker, social activist.
