Bob Saget, the comedian and actor best known for his role as Danny Tanner in the TV show Full House, died today at the age of 65, according to several sources. The sheriffs and fire department arrived at the Ritz-Carlton in Orlando, Florida, at 4 p.m. Eastern Time today, reacting to a tip that hotel security had discovered Bob in his room.
Bob was declared dead on the scene, according to TMZ, but the reasons of his death are yet unknown. There were no signs of foul play or drug usage on the scene, according to detectives. The Orange County Sheriff’s Department stated that the cause of death was still unknown.
They collaborated, “They discovered an unresponsive man in a motel room when they arrived. The individual, Robert Lane Saget (Date Of Birth: 5/17/1956), was pronounced dead at the scene. We don’t know what caused the death, and investigators have found no evidence of foul play or drug use in this case.
This is the most up-to-date information we have at this time, and we do not expect any more updates.” The medical examiner’s office will make the final decision on the cause and manner of death, they said.
This revelation comes while Bob is in the middle of a cross-country stand-up tour. His comedy tour has visited at a number of cities around Florida, including Orlando. The tour began in September and was scheduled to end in May of this year.
Everything appeared to be fine on Saturday night, when Bob was in Jacksonville for a show at the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall. He gave a thanks to the audience at that event on social media early this morning. “Loved tonight’s gig @PV ConcertHall in Jacksonville,” he tweeted. The audience was quite appreciative.” “I had no idea I played a 2 hour set tonight,” Bob said of his plans for the remainder of the year. I’m blissfully addicted to this stuff once more. Despite the fact that Bob has been a touring comic for years, most fans will recognise him from his role as Danny Tanner on ABC’s iconic comedy Full House. He landed the part in 1987 and worked with John Stamos, Dave Coulier, Candace Cameron, Jodie Sweeten, Mary Kate, and Ashley Olsen on the series until 1995.
Bob was also known for his surprisingly filthy comedy, which drew laughs from audiences owing to the stark contrast between the persona he played on TV, and even landed him a popular Comedy Central roast. Bob had another popular TV run as the host of America’s Funniest Home Videos from 1989 to 1997, and he reprised his role as Danny Tanner for Netflix’s revival, “Fuller House,” for four years till 2020.
He also played a vulgar version of himself in a recurring role on HBO’s Entourage and functioned as narrator on the comedy How I Met Your Mother. Since then, Bob has been working steadily, most recently on his podcast series “Bob Saget’s Here for You,” and as a celebrity guest on the smash series “Masked Singer.”
