Allen Ludden aka Allen Ellsworth Ludden was well known as the third husband of Betty White aka Betty Marion White Ludden who was an American actress and comedian. On December 31, 2021, California his wife passed away at the age of 99, she was all set to celebrate her 100th birthday on Jan 17th.

She got married thrice, she first married  Dick Barker in 1945 who served as a United States Army Air Forces aircraft pilot. The duo reportedly met at a dance floor and soon after that they got engaged, the couple moved to Ohio, her husband took care of a chicken farm and within the year the couple got divorced.

Later, she got married to Lane Allen in 1947, who was a Hollywood talent agent and called it off in 1949 for two years of marriage. The couple called it off after Allen wanted her White her job. Talking about her fall in second marriage she told Newsweek, they two lived happy years, but he wanted her to stop working and he said he doesn’t want her to be in show business. When she has the choice to choose between marriage and career, she has to choose her career and never regret her decision. When she was 30 years old, she got divorced twice.

She later met Allen Ludden in 1962, when she was hosting the game show ‘Password’ in New York City. Ludden proposed to her during the show. However, she thought he was joking. White told in an interview with Television Academy, during the show, they were together for 3 weeks, wherein he directly, asked her will you marry me, she thought he was joking but later they got married in 1963. However, their love story did not stay for long, because Ludden unfortunate ended after he died from stomach cancer in 1981. The couple did not have any children together but she was a stepmother of three children from his first marriage to Margaret McGloin Ludden.

Allen Ludden aka Allen Ellsworth Ludden who was an  American television personality, Host, Actor, and well known as the third husband of  Betty White aka Betty Marion White Ludden who was an American actress and comedian. He hosted  Password between 1961 and 1980. He was born on October 5, 1917, in  Mineral Point, Wisconsin in the USA, he was 63 years old at the time of his demise. He was born to Elmer Ellsworth (Father) and Leila M. Allen (Mother).

His father worked as an ice dealer and lost his father on January 6, 1919. When he was five years old, his mother Leila got married to Homer Ludden, Jr., an electrical engineer. He graduated from the University of Texas with a major in English and dramatics and also received his master’s of Arts in 1941 in English from the same university. In 1946, he served in the United States Army as an officer. During the late 1940s, he served on radio as an adviser for the youth in teen magazine columns.

Talking about his career as a host, he served several hosts, including the College Bowl, Password on CBS, and also he began hosting an updated version of the game  Password Plus, on NBC,  Liar’s Club,  Stumpers! and Win with the Stars. Apart from hosting, he also published and wrote four books of “Plain Talk” advice. In 1964, he released an album called Allen Ludden Sings on  RCA Records.

In 1979, he underwent chemotherapy treatments for stomach cancer, which forced him to take an off from the shows in late October 1980. He was first married to Margaret McGloin on October 11, 1943, the couple shared 3 children together one son, David, and two daughters, Martha and Sarah. In 1961, she died due to cancer. In 1962, he met two-time divorce  Betty White, while hosting the game show ‘Password’ in New York City. Ludden proposed to her during the show. However, she thought he was joking, later the couple got married in 1963.

Betty White was well known as an American actress and comedian, she spent almost eight decades in her television career. She was well known as the first woman to produce the sitcom Life with Elizabeth and named the first lady of television. She hosted several game shows including  Password, Tattletales, Match Game, The Hollywood Squares, The $25,000 Pyramid and To Tell the Truth. She was also the first woman to receive the awards  Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Game Show Host in 1983 for the show Just Men!.
