Olivia Rodrigo is no stranger to sharing her pain with the public, and in a new interview with British Vogue, she’s spilling the beans on how she gets over a breakup, despite reports that she’s going through one herself.
Olivia Rodrigo has no doubt acquired enormous fame as a result of her candour and vulnerability when it comes to expressing thoughts of love and grief. But what we don’t know is what happens after the breakup and how she moves on with her life after a previous relationship.
During an interview with British Vogue, she recently gave fans insight into how she copes post-split, and oddly enough, her response matches exactly what her ex-boyfriend, Joshua Bassett, had said about her. Olivia was questioned about the best way to get over someone during the Q&A, and she said, “Besides breaking off all communication, I think it’s necessary to not just forgive them, but also forgive yourself for allowing things to happen.” That is what I’ve discovered.”
Olivia doesn’t normally remain in touch with her ex-boyfriends, based on her reaction, which is exactly what Joshua mentioned during his recent interview with Zach Sang, telling the radio presenter that she “hasn’t spoken to me since ‘drivers licence’ came out,” while admitting to trying to contact her. Olivia’s answer also coincides nicely with her debut hit “drivers licence,” which was released exactly a year ago and catapulted her songwriting career to new heights.
“Get in the car, play your favourite album, and drive around,” she told the publication as the greatest method to decompress and reconnect with her ideas. “If I’m feeling very sad, I’ll turn on Adele,” she said of her favourite vehicle sounds. Lately, I’ve been listening to a lot of Lady Gaga’s The Fame Monster.”
Olivia may be seen doing a lot of meaningless driving to start the New Year, as it is widely speculated that she and Adam Faze had broken up, based on a popular TikTok video. The user splices together videos of Adam celebrating New Year’s Eve with 25-year-old model Christine Burke, while Olivia was at a different party with her dear friend Conan Gray.
Olivia and Adam were last seen together at the end of November in Los Angeles, where they were photographed having a heated makeout session. The two were initially sighted together in July at the Space Jam: A New Legacy launch party at California’s Six Flags Magic Mountain, then confirmed their relationship a week later when they were pictured kissing against an Audi A4. For the time being, neither Olivia nor Adam have confirmed anything, so the news of their breakup is just that: speculation.
