After getting backlash for her involvement in the forthcoming film House of Gucci, Lady Gaga is clapping back! Later this month, Lady Gaga will star as Patrizia Gucci in Director Ridley Scott’s newest crime drama.
Adam Driver, Jared Leto, Salma Hayek, and even Al Pacino feature in the film, which has an all-star ensemble. The film Brand of Gucci is based on the legendary Gucci fashion house and tells the incredible true tale of Patrizia and Maurizio Gucci.
In the years leading up to Maurizio’s murder, which was Ordered by Patrizia, who felt “wronged” by her ex-husband, the film will explore the couple’s tumultuous marriage and subsequent divorce. Before her release in 2016, she served 18 years in jail for her acts.
While many people link Mother Monster with music, she is also a well-rounded actress with an amazing resume. She was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role in 2019 for her magnificent performance in A Star Is Born, and she has subsequently acted in a number of films and television shows.
And after receiving some sharp criticism for her involvement in House of Gucci from Patrizia Gucci herself, Gaga is making it clear that she has no tolerance for the naysayers! Patrizia had already chastised Gaga in an interview with an Italian publication in March.
“I am really irritated at the fact that Lady Gaga is playing me in the new Ridley Scott picture without having had the courtesy and sensitivity to come and see me,” she said, referring to Lady Gaga’s apparent lack of study. “It is not an economic concern,” Patrizia continued. The movie will not pay me anything. It’s a matter of common sense and decency.”
But, in true Lady Gaga flair, she fired back in a recent interview to promote House of Gucci. “I only felt like I could fully do this narrative justice if I approached it with the perspective of an inquisitive lady interested in holding a journalistic spirit so that I could read between the lines of what was occurring in the film’s scenes,” Gaga said in an interview with Vogue. “Meaning that nobody was going to tell me who Patrizia Gucci was,” she said. “Not even Patrizia Gucci,” she says.
However, it appears that the fact that Gaga and Patrizia have never met is no accident. “They were very mindful of not wanting to endorse or support the horrific crime that Patrizia carried out,” a source connected to the initiative told the Mirror, adding, “they were extremely aware of not wanting to promote or support the awful crime that Patrizia carried out.”
When the first teaser was released this summer, fans got their first look at House of Gucci. Lady Gaga is seen slaying in several stunning ensembles in the video. Audiences were also treated to a terrifying speech in which she performed a dead-on imitation of Patrizia! The second video, which emerged last month, depicts Adam Driver’s Maurizio conversing with Lady Gaga’s Patrizia during their early days of dating, and it looks incredible. House of Gucci will be released in theatres on November 24th, and we can’t wait to watch it. The conflict between Gaga and Patrizia just adds to the excitement, and we’re looking forward to seeing Gaga’s take on the legendary fashion tycoon.
