Family members of Indian diplomats have been ordered to return home as tensions in Ukraine rise. This comes after the Indian embassy in Kyiv issued an advice to all Indian citizens living in the country.
The students and those working in non-essential sectors have been advised to leave Ukraine temporarily, for now, even the commercial and charter flights are available for departures. The advisory also said that the students should get in touch with their respective student contractors in case of any issues, a control room has also been set up in New Delhi to provide information and assistance.
Due to the expected influx in departures, the Indian foreign ministry is closely working with the civil aviation ministry and the government is expected to expand flights between India and Ukraine, this is a precautionary measure by the government of India. The embassy has urged citizens not to panic and also said that it will continue to function normally to provide all services to Indian nationals in Ukraine.

With the situation in Ukraine only worsening by the day and a rising number of countries are on the side of caution and advising their citizens to leave Ukraine. In the latest, prime minister Naftali Bennett has urged Israeli citizens to leave Ukraine as soon as possible as threats of Russian invasion continue to grow.
France has urged its citizens to leave the Ukrainian regions of Kharkiv, Luhansk, and Donetsk without delay after an upsurge in shelling was reported in the last three days.
The French foreign ministry has issued a travel advisory urging french citizens to leave Ukraine and if they don’t have urgent business there now this follows a similar warning from Germany which told its nationals to leave Ukraine now because the military confrontation is possible at any time.
Germany’s Lufthansa group also announced that it is suspending flights to and from the Ukrainian cities of Kyiv and Odesa, the company which also owns swiss, Brussels, and Austrian airlines will conduct some last flights over the weekend before suspending flights from Monday until the end of the month.
It will however continue to fly to the city of lev in western Ukraine where some countries have moved their embassies. NATO too announced that it is relocating its staff from Kyiv the capital of Ukraine to the city located in the western part of the country, also NATO officials said the move was done for safety reasons and nato officers in Ukraine remained operational this follows similar decisions by us and the UK to reload.
