A medical examiner declared in a news conference on Tuesday that Gabby Petito died from strangulation, revealing additional devastating circumstances in the case of Gabby Petito.
Gabby Petito’s thorough autopsy and cause of death have been completed, according to a fresh report from a medical examiner, over a month after her remains were verified to be found in Grand Teton National Park. Gabby died by homicide on September 21st, according to Teton County Coroner Brent Blue, and a news conference was conducted on Tuesday to certify that the autopsy confirmed Gabby died from strangling.
Gabby was asphyxiated, which is another term for being strangled or deprived of breath, at the moment of her death, according to a private investigator. After seeing the bodycam footage captured by Utah cops who had stopped Gabby and her then-fiance Brian Laundrie over, he apparently came to this conclusion.
According to CNN, the coroner who conducted the autopsy believes Gabby died 3-4 weeks before her corpse was discovered on September 19th, implying that she died in mid-August, far before the strange text message activity that was reported to her family.
All additional data surrounding the autopsy are still unavailable to the public, as the coroner noted that he is only allowed to divulge the manner and cause of death under Wyoming state law. Gabby was reported missing on September 11th, ten days after Brian returned to his parent’s house in Florida, where the two had been residing before to starting on their cross-country road trip in their white Ford van, as many people involved in the case recall.
He was labelled a person of interest on September 15th, and as of this writing, despite a few purported sightings of what some believe to be him, he has yet to be found.
With that stated, unless more evidence is given, officials have yet to label Brian, or anyone else, as a suspect in Gabby’s abduction and murder. We at Clevver continue to send our heartfelt condolences to Gabby’s family, friends, and everyone who was fortunate enough to know such a brilliant light, and hope that her family will find peace and clarity in the wake of such a tragic loss… and, most importantly, justice for Gabby’s murder.
