After her separation from Anwar Hadid, Dua Lipa is talking up about the importance of keeping her personal life private in a new interview, telling her fans that there’s a lot more to her life than meets the eye.
Dua Lipa is fully aware that her life is always on display, regardless of how much or how little she shares with her followers. After years in the spotlight, Dua has learned that no matter what, there will always be people who believe they know everything about her life, including the stuff she chooses not to share, but hey, that’s pretty much the nature of celebrity.
She discusses why she chooses to keep her private life secret in a new interview with the Wall Street Journal Magazine, telling the publication, “Something that I’ve noticed over time is how little people actually know.” Last month, news of Dua’s breakup with Anwar Hadid after two years of dating broke when the two apparently had problems in their relationship due to extensive travel… We’ve heard that being separated from each other has caused them to grow apart. Understandable!
While many other rumours persisted about their relationship, including how Anwar’s sister Gigi Hadid’s split with Zayn may have influenced him and Dua’s, she went on to say, “I’ve made peace with the fact that people can think whatever they want, but no one really, truly knows what’s going on behind closed doors.”
“My circle is pretty close,” Dua continued, “and it gives me some kind of comfort that not everything is out there that would take away from your life and privacy.” While many fans were surprised by the breakup, Dua said that her workaholic inclinations have kept her tremendously busy, especially since she recently launched her newsletter Service95 and a new podcast, “At Your Service.”
“It’s just something that’s embedded in me,” she said of her plethora of engagements. I’m not sure what it is, but I get the feeling that if I don’t work hard enough, the rug could be yanked out from under my feet at any time.” Dua may have some solid content for her future album, despite the fact that it’s unclear whether or not this has forced her relationship with Anwar to take a back seat.
She teased that the album is starting to take shape after she completed a “large chunk of writing,” adding, “It has a vision.” For the time being, I believe it has a name. Experimenting has been a lot of fun. I’ll always make pop music, but it’ll have its own distinctive sound that’s energetic and feels like a movement from Future Nostalgia.” Dua admitted that the album is still in “baby form,” but that “it’s definitely not what my fans want to hear, but I’m not in any hurry.” Dua seemed to be content with simply enjoying life with her loved ones and taking each day as it comes, and there’s nothing wrong with that!
