While Lil Nas X previously stated that he had found “the one,” he has lately disclosed that he is now single, but don’t worry, that’s exactly how he wants it.
Lil Nas X, real name Montero Lamar Hill, recently spoke with Andy Cohen on Sirius XM’s Radio Andy, and Andy couldn’t resist but inquire about his love life. Lil Nas X admitted to Andy that he “was seeing someone” but that he “sort of decided” not to anymore.
Andy then speculated that there must be “thousands of individuals applying for the position of Lil Nas X’s lover,” to which Lil Nas responded, “Definitely a couple of people.” There are definitely a couple of folks out there.”
He did tell Andy, though, that longing for a relationship was not his main concern right now. According to Lil Nas, “It’s possible that I’m floating about right now. I just want to focus on music and, every now and then, maybe kiss a man once in a blue moon.” “I’ve had some nice lovers and some horrible boyfriends,” Lil Nas X told Variety in August, “I’ve had some excellent boyfriends and some awful boyfriends.” Many of them were emotionally unavailable or had a great deal of insecurity.” “I’ve discovered someone amazing now,” Lil Nas said. This, I believe, is the one. I’m not sure what that is; it’s simply a sensation.”
Apparently, this one didn’t stick, but Lil Nas X seemed to be okay with being on his own for the time being. Lil Nas X spoke to People earlier this month about his just released debut album Montero and how he’s presently prioritising music above love.
He said to the news organisation, quote, “I’ve finally understood that I don’t want to fall in love at this time in my life. I’m so concentrated on my music career right now, and falling in love takes a long time. It’s a lot of duty, and I’m not sure I’m ready to take on that additional burden right now. It’ll happen when it’s supposed to happen.”
When discussing his song “Sun Goes Down,” he also mentioned how he’d never done something so intimate before. Lil Nas X reflects on coming to grips with his sexuality on the personal ballad, and Lil Nas X stated, “To be 100 percent honest, I didn’t want to record that song at first.” I was afraid to show my weakness because I didn’t want anyone to take advantage of it.” “However, once I published the song, I received comments from individuals informing me that it had saved their lives,” he continued. It doesn’t feel quite genuine yet.” This ‘pinch me’ moment is for genuine, as Montero has already received a lot of love from his followers, and this is only the beginning.
